HiSeasNet

Provider details at:

HiSeasNet has been offering custom, high-performance-capable ground stations since 2002. Below follows information about what we can offer.

UC San Diego Earth Station

UC San Diego ground station

HiSeasNet’s main ground station is located at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, whose location is well-situated to shoot effectively at satellites such as IS-18 to the west and IS-23 and IS-34 to the east. The site has two 7 m IEEE C-band dishes and one 2.4 m IEEE Ku-band dish to support satellite communications with leased raw spectrum.

Frequencies

HiSeasNet uses IEEE C-band and Ku-band frequency ranges.

See Radio Frequencies for more information on frequencies.

Other Leased Raw Spectrum

When infrastructure or location is needed that the nominal ground station cannot accommodate, HiSeasNet is also able to virtually “extend” its ground station by sending a small amount of equipment to other locations better situated to relay data via such satellites as IS-903, IS-17 or G-18.

This has historically been done at several Intelsat Teleports.
